.. and as we moved on, a narrow dim light made me open my eyes. The sun with its peaceful yellow hues in imperfect shape was hiding behind the dispersed clouds. The vast spread of paddy fields and the toddy palms were disappearing into the layers of fog on the winter morning, shining bright green in that mesmerising mix of colours. I smiled after a troubled night's sleep. It felt like home.
Its a mix of all, my random rantings and emotions. To share these is a weird feeling.. sharing the unessential. But still i do.. Hoping someday it would make perfect sense! :)

Random!
Why do you judge so easily.. so fast?
Maybe it was my momentary lapse,
that moment you judged me.
And then because you are sure about your judgement
you don't give a second chance.
Neither to me or to my precious self! :)

One among the all - The one among all!
What happens when you cant decide the right amount of right and the wrong amount of wrong?
What happens when the little seems way too little and much seems way too much?
Where do u stop and how can u?
How do u qualify yourself to define it for someone else?
You haven't lived their life, you haven't been through theirs.
Does their lie a norm, does their lie a rule?
Who sets the norm and why set the rule?
If you set the rule and those beyond norms,
shouldn't you do it for yourself and no one beyond?
So incapable I am, the being so called
the irritated, the frustrated, the annoyed and the hopeless!
Who am I but one among the all, understood, interpreted, judged and criticized!

To let it be and live in peace.
Hold a little too tight and you would crush it,
Hold a little too loose and you would lose it.
It takes a life to know may be,
To learn to hold on and to let go
To let it be and live in peace.

Just like love
Looking for the field of work that makes you tick is like looking for that one love in the world that is supposed to be yours. Such a romantic thought, that some day you would find a place where you are destined to be, where pure satisfaction can be attained for the hard work put, where you wouldn't mind working because your work matters. It is just about finding that place.. the place where all your fantasies about enjoying your hard work comes true. But how long would it take? How many times do you try? May be it is just like love. You should be lucky enough to find it, and if at all you find it, that would be the best thing that could happen to you. But can one really afford to keep searching, and if not, when exactly do you stop?

Not much difference!
There is a typical uniqueness in the novels I have been reading. The protagonist in most of the books is a person dedicated to and excelling in a profession who is obviously put into a challenging situation, and who at the end of the book overcomes the cons in the situation successfully.
But in a basic plot like this, I couldn't help but find a Sherlock Holmes in each story. Holmes being a master mind could come out of any situation with his own intellect. Because he is a handwriting expert, linguistic expert, physics expert, sociology expert, a chemist, a scientist and an expert in fights among many others. It was possible only for Arthur Conan Doyle to pull this off I guess. Because, these days the protagonists come out of the "pickles" quite successfully but not alone; because unlike Holmes they are only marginally talented. They do have a history though; the protagonist has a life in which he helps through his expertise- X,Y and Z and alter their lives making them indebted to the 'hero'. Well these X,Y,Z have their own specialties which the protagonist conveniently calls for in time.
Not much difference is it? Holmes could pull off the "know-it-all" thanks to Conan Doyle; but our new protagonists requires expert friends who help him. These days its only the kind of problem and hence the set of expertise and friends that vary in every movie and in every novel. It is the same thing again and again, with a different coat.

Corruption- The other side- Hence, it happened.
The wide spread
corruption and the commonness in its occurance puzzles a person as to how it
could happen, when almost everyone desires a system with integrity. The process
is easy, simple and swift and doesn’t come with a warning. As some people say
below, it's a consequence of multiple circumstances. For once if we hear the
explanations, here goes.
“I had to pay bribes to get into this position (not a pleasant experience). Once I was in, I was hesitant to do the same and worked, but when everyone was improving their lifestyle, how could I be stuck here? So I gradually started to take advantage. Now I don’t even bother to work hard. I just manage.”
“It was a momentary lapse. I was desperate then, and now it has become a habit. You know it is a hard thing to come out of.”
“In the first 6 months I did not take bribes. But then, I did not find the whole point of what I was doing. It’s not that if I don’t take a bribe, it would make a big difference. We have gone too far from ideal. Everyone is corrupt.”
“I wasn’t corrupt at the start of my term. But then, everyone was pursuing unethical means. You know that it’s a competitive world, what do you expect?”
Is an explanation
enough to justify the ends? The speakers explain corruption as an occurance
he/she could not avoid. It happened as a normal event sparing some rational
thinking to let it become a part of their life.
One of the saddest lessons is this: "If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.” – Carl Sagan
Who is the bamboozled and who is the charlatan? Isn’t it both you
blaming the other one?
